SailMOB is a sailing simulator made by Ventus Optera, LLC. This page explains what data the app and our websites (sailmob.co and sailmob.app) collect, why, and how to reach us. We will keep it short and concrete.
You can play SailMOB without an account. Signing in is optional: you sign in with a 6-digit code sent to your email, to keep your race history and use the Coach. Section 1 lists what we collect when you play, and what we add if you sign in.
utm_* tags and ad click IDs (such as Google's gclid) in the link that brought you, and the game keeps the first ones it sees in your browser's storage, so we can tell which campaigns lead to races. Where the websites ask for your cookie choice, the game keeps them only for the page you are on until you accept.Info.plist.In order of importance: to make the game work for you, to fix bugs, to learn what helps sailors improve so we can prioritize feature work, and to measure which of our ads bring people to the game.

Each of the above is bound by its own published privacy commitments. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to target ads at you. We use Google Ads only to measure which of our ads work: remarketing is off, and every page that loads Google's tag tells Google not to use what it collects to personalize ads.
If we add purchases, Apple will handle them as the merchant of record for In-App Purchase, not as a processor acting on our behalf. Apple collects and holds your payment details under its own privacy policy and returns only a purchase receipt to us.
Delete your account in the app. Open the Menu, tap Delete account and confirm. This deletes your account, your race history (including your leaderboard entries) and your coach debriefs, and unlinks any bug reports and race feedback you sent from your account, erasing the email address on them.
You can also ask for a copy of any data tied to your account, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or ask us to delete it. Email privacy@sailmob.co from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days (45 for complex GDPR or CCPA requests).
If you live in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR. If you live in California, you have rights under CCPA / CPRA, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. Section 4 describes the ad measurement we do run.
In the iPhone and iPad app, no advertising or Google Analytics tag loads, and SailMOB and the analytics tools in section 1 store what they need in the app's own storage on your device. On sailmob.co and sailmob.app, PostHog and Google Analytics set cookies or local storage to recognize a returning browser, and the Google Ads tag sets cookies (such as _gcl_au) to connect an ad click to a later visit, race or sign-up. Remarketing is off, so these cookies are not used to personalize the ads you see.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, both websites ask first, with an Accept and a Reject button. We tell where you are from your device's time zone, and Google also checks your IP address. Until you accept, and after you reject, nothing that recognizes your browser or an ad click is stored: PostHog counts visits and events without cookies and records no sessions, Google's tags send only cookieless signals, and your email is not sent to Google when you join the beta. To change your choice, use "Cookie settings" at the foot of either site. Your choice itself is kept in your browser's storage, so we don't ask again.
Global Privacy Control. Wherever you are, if your browser sends this signal, Google's tags set no advertising cookies and receive no ad data from your visit, including the hashed email.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The websites and the game work the same whatever you choose.
SailMOB is rated 4+ for the App Store, but it is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the EU and UK). We do not knowingly collect data from children under those ages. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact privacy@sailmob.co and we will delete it.
If you use SailMOB from outside the US, your data is transferred to and processed in the US. For EU and UK transfers, our sub-processors operate under Standard Contractual Clauses and (where applicable) the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest for the database, scoped service-role keys, Row-Level Security on Supabase tables, rate limiting, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify anyone affected by a breach as required by law.
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will be announced in the app, or by email to account holders, at least 14 days before they take effect.
